Unlike infrared remotes, a wired remote allows more freedom to work from any position instead of being limited to standing in front of the camera. This remote cable includes a 2 ft. long cable, a convenient length for most situations. But when you need a longer cable, just add the extension included to trigger the camera from up to 6 ft. away. Handset has 2-stage button to activate focus and exposure system with partial press, and trigger shutter with full release. Release button has lock position for long exposures with shutter set on "B".

HAVE BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS PRODUCT. HAVE TAKEN SHOTS WITH TELEPHOTO LENS AND WITH CLOSE-UP LENS. ALL HAVE BEEN VERY CLEAR, ESPECIALLY THE CLOSE-US.
