Porter's/Tamron 2012 Calendar Photo Contest


COPYRIGHT NOTICE

By submitting a picture to Porter's/Tamron Calendar Contest, I certify that I took the photo and own the copyright to the image I am submitting and can provide proof if requested. Further, I certify that all persons in the photo have provided appropriate release and permission and that release documents can be supplied upon request.
I also understand that any image submitted onto a website that is not password protected is public domain. While Porter's tries to prevent copying of images Porter's is not liable for images copied from this webstie



Contest Rules:

1) Contest is open to US residents only

2) Each monthly contest begins on the first day of that month and ends on the last day.

Entries for specific themes may only be submitted during that theme month.

3) Enter no more than 1 photo per person and/or per email address monthly.

If multiple photos are submitted, only the first image entered will be posted to the contest gallery.

4) Image files should be sized between 800 x 600 pixels and 1200X1800 pixels (roughly 4x6" size at 300dpi).

Image files larger than 3MB will be rejected. File types accepted are: .jpg, .gif, .png. No bitmaps, no PSD's please. Files of improper type or sized larger than specifications will not be accepted into the contest.

5) Not all images submitted to the contest will be posted.

Photos will be first judged on the basis of quality, technique, interest and appropriateness for the monthly theme before uploading to the contest gallery. This is the First Cut. Please see notes below.See Monthly Theme List, the number one reason for entry rejection is that it is deemed not to fit the month's theme. If your image doesn't fit the monthly theme we suggest that you upload your image to our Hot Shots Gallery instead.

6) Entrant gives Porter's Camera Store and Tamron the right to use the photo for purposes that may be commercial with no right of Entrant for any recourse.

7) Entrants must be over age 18.

8) Employees of Porter's Camera Store and Tamron Industries are ineligible.

9) Entrants must include their name, picture title, valid email and a postal address where a prize can be sent, if won

Only their name will be visible on-line with their entry.

10) Images that are deemed by the contest sponsors to be unlawful, libelous, slanderous, defamatory, invasive of another person's right of privacy, or harmful, vulgar, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, or otherwise unfit for publication will be rejected without prior notice.

11) Please exclude the use of any characters other than Numbers or Letters in your photo file name.

Characters such as "&", "%", quotes or apostrophes will cause your image file not to load.

Please Note:

  • Images submitted are reviewed under rule 5 above and uploaded to the contest gallery once each week.
  • Submitted photos will NOT immediately appear in the gallery pending this review. Entries are uploaded to the gallery by Porter's once each week.
  • Porter's takes this precautionary step to help maintain the family-centered integrity of our site.
  • First Cut: All images are first judged against each month's theme before display in the contest gallery. Image titles are not taken into consideration during this first judging. The image must stand on its own as an example of the theme. Images that pass First Cut are posted weekly into the contest gallery. Again, please see rule 5 above.
