Great flash, for fun! | (Posted on 2/11/10)

I upgraded from a 5700, to a 7400 to the magnificent 7500. The only working issue I have with this unit is recycle time with normal AA batteries. That 10 second maximum recycle can happen quite often! As far as light and mechanics work, this flash works just as well as my Canon 580EX (I even tell people I prefer it over the Canon.) I have not tried it off-camera, but on-camera it performs wonderfully. I have had some difficulty unlocking it from the hot-shoe from time to time, but that might just be me tightening it too much.

I've used Promaster flashes for years, and this is the best series yet!
Pros: Power per dollar. One year over the counter exchange warranty. Works well with bounce accessories. Can have the firmware updated to meet future camera requirements.
Cons: Won't use Canon's wireless TTL synch
