Reduces overall scene brightness by three stops. ND8 filters effectively lower the minimum ISO of any digital camera - for Canon DSLRs from 100 ISO to 12 ISO, for many Nikon DSLRs from 200 ISO to 25 ISO.Lowering the sensitivity of the camera allows photographers to capture highlight details that might otherwise be blown out. Also helpful when trying to render moving water like cotton candy.
